It is important that companies in Kolding prosper and develop. Kolding is one of Denmark’s most dynamic business towns. Many new businesses and jobs are created here and Business Kolding will help both new and existing businesses to become a success. Business Kolding has a wide and varied choice of courses and inspirational events, we develop networks and projects for, and together with, businesses and, last but not least, we help businesses to find qualified employees from Germany.
3,900 knowledge based jobs
by the end of 2014
The Kolding region is the very best in Denmark when it comes to creating new jobs, however, we must still be ambitious. It is therefore Business Kolding’s strategy to create 3,900 new sustainable jobs by the end of 2014. These 3,900 new jobs are to be created through initiatives which support:
- entrepreneurial initiatives
- existing businesses
- attracting new businesses
Western Denmark’s most attractive trade region
In Kolding’s town centre there is a pleasant network of pedestrian streets, where more than 180 shops invite provide the opportunity for a comprehensive shopping experience in historic surroundings. If you go away from the town centre you will find various shopping experiences in the shopping complex Kolding Storcenter, which is considered by the customers themselves as being one of the best shopping experiences in the country. Also the surrounding shops tempt you with exciting offers and good service. At Christiansfeld you can, among other things, find old crafts shops such as Christiansfelder Kakkelovne (Christiansfelder heating stoves); or combine a visit to the museum Kongeåmuseet in Vamdrup with a little shopping trip to the town which has over forty shops. Business Kolding works together with City Kolding, Kolding Storcenter and the local authority’s other commercial centres regarding the development of Western Denmark’s most attractive trade region.
Meeting and conference town
of international class
Kolding is one of Denmark’s best meeting and conference towns. The town’s location in the middle of the country, the historical and cultural attractions and the beautiful setting is in itself a strong argument for thinking of Kolding when planning meetings and conferences. In addition, Kolding has over a number of years built up an unconventional partnership, which brings together the town’s strengths, so the intimate meeting as well as the large conference is always a good experience in Kolding. Business Kolding and Visit Kolding work together with the providers of meeting and conference facilities to develop Kolding as an international meeting and conference town.
International attractions and events
In 2007 Business Kolding was behind the opening of the science centre Xploorit in the centre of Kolding. Xploorit came into existence from a collaboration with Experimentarium in Copenhagen; and Business Kolding is now working to make the science centre a permanent attraction in Kolding. Business Kolding was likewise behind Kolding’s first Oktoberfest, a beer festival on the Bavarian model. The festival was opened with a talk by Franz Beckenbauer at Kolding Teater (Kolding theatre) and is to be repeated in an extended form in 2008. Business Kolding works to attract other similar international attractions and events to Kolding.
